Small and Select Vintages
In our small but select vintages through meticulous winemaking and balanced oak maturation, we ensure the wine remains true to its variety and regional character. The careful crafting of our wines is evident when you taste them.
Merlot
For our Merlot, we use medium toast French oak barrels which are subtle enough to allow the voice of the fruit to speak through. We have been producing a premium Merlot from our Geographe estate since 2003.
Rosé
Our Geographe Merlot grapes were also used in 2009 to make our first Rosé. Overnight skin contact was used to produce the glorious colour of this deceptively delicious summer wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon
In 2008 we created our first Cabernet Sauvignon after re-working our vines that were planted in 1983 in Margaret River. Our Cabernet Sauvignon wine was lovingly crafted and matured in French oak, 20% new oak, from Tonnellerie Cadus & Tonnellerie Remond that was carefully selected to match the grape.
Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
From 2009 we have produced a very small and select quantity of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc from the vines planted in 1983. The Rosa Glen area of the Margaret River wine region is particularly well suited to growing Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc and it is a natural pairing of the two in an SSB to make a delightful wine with Semillon providing the structure and Sauvignon Blanc the lift. In 2010 we added a Sauvignon Blanc for an easy drinking style wine. And in 2011 we have produced 100 cases of Semillon, this we aged for 6 months in French oak.
Just Desserts
And with yet another superb pairing of Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc is Jessica’s 2010 ‘folly’ of a delightful dessert wine called Just Desserts. The 1.5 tonnes of this Late Harvest Botrytis Semillon Sauvignon Blanc was picked in late May and the resulting wine was aged for eight months in four French oak barrels, one of which was new.
